How do I access my H: or K: Drive from an electronic classroom?

Windows 98 Apple

For computers using Windows 98:

For printable, take along directions, click on this link Directions for logging onto a remote Windows 98 computer. This is an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file. If you don't have Acrobat Reader on you computer, click the Get Acrobat Reader button to download Adobe Acrobat Reader free.Graphic link to download Adobe Acrobat Reader

  1. Start or restart the computer in order to do a fresh logon to the Novell network; fig. 1, below, will appear.

  3. Fill in as follows:
    •  Username - this is the code that begins "w00..."; it is best to check your Username before you leave your office so you are sure you have it. Remember: those are zeros not Os in the numeric portion of the username.
    •  Password - your normal password for logging onto your computer
    •  Tree - the Tree should be correct, but if it isn't, change it to "wsu"
    •  Context - check your proper context before you leave your office; when you log into the computer in your office, the same dialog box will appear if you click on Advanced. The three characters represented in red as xyz, should be your three letter departmental designator
    •  Server - again, this should be correct, but if not change it to "user1"

  4. Click OK (yours will not have the red around it)

  5. You are now logged into your Novell account and have access to your H: (private space on the network server) and K: (your department shared space on the server) drives in the same way you do in your office. Note: You do not have access to your C: drive; it is not possible at this time to access your C: drive from a remote location.
