Randy Beane is a 35 year veteran of the Dayton Police Department and holds the rank of Lieutenant. During his tenure with the Dayton Police Department Randy has held several different positions such as Homicide Sergeant, District Commander, Special Weapons and Tactics Commander, Communications Bureau Commander as well as many other assignments. Randy has attempted to give back to his community by being active within the community he serves. He has been the President of the Dayton Fraternal Order of Police for the past 8 years and has served on several State FOP committees. Recently Randy was awarded the 2011 State FOP Member of the Year. This organization reduces crime and incivility of youth in the Dayton area by providing athletic programs as well as other activities to those youth.
Randy is proud that he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Urban Affairs in 1993 fromWright State University. This was accomplished after many years of attending part time.
Randy has been married to his wife, Christen, for 30 years and they met in the Police Academy. Christen is a Robbery Detective and they have three sons and one daughter. All three sons have chosen to follow in the footsteps of their parents by becoming law enforcement officers.
