Liberal Arts Advising
PART 1: THE ADMISSION PROCESS, 1.7 - 1.8
1.7 Transfer Within the University
To transfer to Liberal Arts from other colleges,
students fill out a university transfer form and turn it in to their current
college office (transfer forms are available in all college offices).
The student’s folder is then sent to the L.A. Advising Office. There,
the change is made on the student’s computerized records and a Liberal
Arts Checksheet (see Part 2) and/or an initial DARS report (see Part 3)
is prepared. Then the student folder is sent to the student’s major
department. Most B.F.A. and B.M. students must be approved by the department
after completion of the audition process.
If a student folder is sent directly to
the department, it should be forwarded immediately to the Advising Office
so that the transfer can be completed without delay. It is important that
a Liberal Arts Checksheet and/or a DARS report be completed for these
students as soon as possible.
If a student folder does not include a yellow
copy of the L.A. Checksheet, send the folder to the Advising Office so
that one can be completed.
If you do not have a folder for an advisee
transferring from another college, it may be in the Advising Office for
processing. Please call X2601 for assistance.
1.8 University Honors Program
The College of Liberal Arts participates
fully in the University Honors Program and encourages students with a
3.0 or better G.P.A. to consider participating in Honors. For details
about admissions and graduation requirements, contact the University Honors
Office.
