Dr. Linda Caron began her career at Wright State University in 1988, moving to Dayton from the east coast. As an assistant professor in the Art Department, she taught a large variety of classes: the art history survey, art appreciation, Italian Renaissance art, Baroque art, Dutch and Flemish painting, and the Art of Venice. She particularly enjoyed teaching a course called the Art of Rome From Antiquity to the Present, which allowed her to share her great interest in the city and its development over the centuries. She was promoted to chair of the department in 1993, a position she held for over fifteen years before her promotion to Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts in 2005, succeeding as Interim Dean in 2012.
