What are the related requirements?
For the Departmental Requirements, there are 27 credit hours, of which at least 5 classes must be upper division (3000 and 4000 level), selected in consultation with one's academic advisor. See also: Liberal Studies Checksheet.
Professional Component (3 Hrs.): These are courses that will enhance a Liberal Studies major's chances for employment or career advancement, such as courses in Business, Communication, Computer Science, Education, Public Administration, etc.
Interdisciplinary Studies (3 Hrs.): These are courses in African and African American Studies, International Studies, Women's Studies, and other courses of a multidisciplinary nature. These will be selected from a list of courses approved by the Liberal Studies program director.
Electives (35 Hrs.): These are courses selected by each student. Included here are any prerequisites needed for courses in the core, concentration, or related requirements.
