The beginning of this new academic year brings with it a combinationof changes - expected ones and others. Aliya Barnhill, Robert Buerger,Ellen Downer, Rory Golden, Eric Minton, and Fred Sedam completed their degreerequirements during the past year. Kathryn Walter had her Prospectus fora Project on Rilke and Nietzsche approved. Barb Siwecki had her Masterof Humanities Show in the WSU Gallery in July and August. Our 11 new students are introduced laterin this newsletter. Bette Garrison, Lora Williams and Talma Ovide havereturned to active status. All-together there are approximately 50 studentscurrently enrolled in the program.
Starting this year the sequence and numbers of the core courses change. Graduate Introduction to the Humanities I continues to be offered in theFall and is being taught by Prof. Taylor. Graduate Research Methods inthe Humanities(HUM 710) will be offered in the Winter (instead of Springas hitherto) and will again be taught by Prof. Maner (English). GraduateIntroduction to the Humanities II (HUM 720) will accordingly now be offeredin the Spring and will be taught by Prof. Carol Loranger (English).
