What is the FGAII Project?

In collaboration with Corinthian Baptist Church and Dayton Public Schools (DPS), the African and African American Studies Program recently embarked on a pilot project called the First Grade Academic Improvement Initiative (FGAII). This project gives students, especially AFS majors and minors, an opportunity to teach disadvantaged students in math, reading, and writing. In addition to African and African American Studies, FGAII tutors come from several other majors including Sociology, Early Childhood Education, Biological Sciences, Nursing, Mass Communication, English, and Social Work.
