Transfer students should meet the same,
aforementioned criteria. In the event one transfers with junior
status and has had two or more equivalent introductory social work
courses, letters of recommendation should be provided from two of the
former social work instructors (if possible).
If a transfer student is accepted into the social
work major without taking SW 270 or SW 271 at the main campus, the
admission will be conditional. Students will have to successfully
complete two WSU social work courses with a minimum grade of "C" and
meet with their mentor to discuss the transition into the program.
Students who transfer from other universities or
other majors (including other majors at WSU) with enough credit hours
to be a junior, should understand that it can take six (6) academic
quarters (excluding summers) to complete the social work major! All
transfer students must meet the same criteria for admission that WSU
students meet.
The Social Work Program is a professionally accredited
program. Thus, the curriculum must demonstrate continuity, integration,
and sequencing of knowledge acquisition. This includes the general
education courses, related courses, and a structured sequence
of social work courses.
