LIBERAL ARTS BASE

Just as our professional accreditation organization, the Council on Social Work Education, requires us to be a generalist program, it also requires you to have a strong Liberal Arts preparation before beginning your social work courses. Thus, the following cross-disciplinary courses must be completed prior to beginning the major.

SOC 200 - Social Life
PLS 200 - Political Life or PLS 212 - American National Government
PSY 105 - Psychology : The Science of Behavior
PSY 341 - Lifespan Developmental Psychology (PSY 110 is a pre-req to PSY 341)
EC 200 - Economic Life or EC 290 - Economic, Business and Social Issues
BIO 107 - Introductory Biology : Disease or BIO 105 - Introductory Biology: Food
COM 102 - Essentials of Interpersonal Communication or

                      COM 104 - Human Communication
