LIBERAL ARTS BASE

Just as our professional accreditation organization, the Council on Social Work Education, requires us to be a generalist program, it also requires you to have a strong Liberal Arts preparation before beginning your social work courses. Thus, the following cross-disciplinary courses must be completed prior to beginning the major.

SOC 2000 - Intro to Sociology
PLS 2000 - Political Life or PLS 2120 - American National Government
PSY 1010 - Intro to Psychology
ECON 2000 - Economic Life or EC 2900 - State and Society
BIO 1070 - Health and Disease or BIO 1050 - Introductory to Biology of Food
COM 2020 - Interpersonal Communication
ENG 1100 - Academic Writing and Reading
ENG 2100 - Research Writing and Argument
