GRADUATE PROGRAM AND COURSES
MSW Partnership Program
with The Ohio State University
Wright
State University is pleased to partner with The Ohio State University
College of Social Work to provide a part-time M.S.W. program
to people and agencies in the Miami Valley Region of Ohio. This
five-year partnership began with the first class in 2006 and
we will continue admitting new students each fall through 2010
under this current agreement. Students admitted into this program
will take most courses at a Wright State/Dayton area location
while pursuing the curriculum of Ohio State's existing MSW program.
Students may use the application below or may find the application,
along with additional information about Ohio State and their
various programs at their web site: http://www.csw.ohio-state.edu
Attending
a program that is offered between two schools can seem daunting
and, perhaps, uninviting. Faculty and staff at both schools
are committed to making this process as streamlined as possible
for students, recognizing that with opportunities (two email
accounts, for example) come challenges (where to send essential
email?, for example). To assist with your information search,
please refer to WSU-OSU
MSW Program Partnership Information to find contact information
about both programs without having to search "all over"
for it.
Students
enrolling in this program may matriculate as a four year/part-time
student as designed (2 courses per quarter for 3 and then 4
quarters per year); however, students working with an OSU advisor,
may make program modifications to progress through the program
at a slightly faster pace. Both Wright State University and
the Ohio State University full-time faculty and adjuncts provide
instruction for this program.
SOCIAL WORK Graduate Courses
In
addition to our partnership with Ohio State described
above, Wright State University offers graduate education courses
in a variety of disciplines and fields of study including psychology,
education, medical sciences, gerontology, and women's studies
to name a few. Also, many course offered in our BSW program
may be taken as graduate courses with the proper call number.
In some cases, courses offered by us or by those department
might be useful for continuing education
for professional social workers seeking such education for license
renewal and knowledge expansion and, in other cases, students
may wish to take a course at WSU that may count towards their
degree at Ohio State (see above). The information below contains
information that, along with the searchable electronic schedule
found on the WSU
Registrar's page, can provide students with some options
for consideration.
Thank
you for your interest in our graduate social work program opportunity.
We continue to work for the development of a free-standing MSW
program that serves the needs of the people and organizations
in this important region of the state.
We
look forward to working with you to help you pursue your educational
and professional goals! For more information contact Dr.
Michel Coconis, WSU MSW Program Coordinator, or call 937-775-3436.
