The Philosophy Department welcomes support of the following funds, which support Philosophy Department programs and philosophy majors and students.
Ronald F. Hough Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund was created in 1999 on the retirement of Professor Ronald F. Hough in recognition of his 33 years of
teaching at Wright State. The scholarship is awarded by the department to outstanding philosophy majors.

Department of Philosophy Program Fund
Department of Philosophy Program Fund is used by the department to support student access to philosophical discussion outside the classroom. Funds may be used to bring a noted philosopher to speak on campus. Marx Wartofsky, Richard Taylor and Jacques Taminiaux have been featured speakers. The fund has also been used to support students attending philosophy conferences at other universities.
The department will support a regular lecture series with this fund, featuring annual lectures by guest philosophers.
