Dr. Hertzler came to WSU in 2006 after teaching French at New York University’s Center for Foreign Language and Translation and the Bard Graduate School for Decorative Arts. Prior to that she taught at James Madison University, where she was involved in study abroad and the School for International Training in France and Switzerland.
She currently teaches courses in a variety of areas: Elementary and Intermediate French language, Advanced Grammar and Composition, Phonetics, and Literature. Dr. Hertzler plans to develop an Ambassador program to francophone Canada to expose students to the history, culture and literature of the region.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Hertzler enjoys a variety of activities, including café sitting and people watching; gardening; French cinema. She is a Reiki and Yoga practitioner and is working toward her Yoga teacher certification.
