Dr. Dona is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at Wright State University where she coordinates the German Program and teaches a variety of courses from intermediate German language courses, to literature, culture and business courses. Her major areas of interests include instructional technology and digital media, curriculum and materials development, language testing, and language policy issues. She has been the recipient of several university awards such as the “President’s Award for Excellence: Outstanding Instructor Award” (2005), the “Education Abroad Academic Advisor Award” (2009) for promoting study abroad programs and internationalizing the WSU campus, and the “Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology Award” (2010) for creatively integrating technology in her teaching. Working collaboratively with other departments (Department of Theatre and Teacher Education), and providing students with 21st century skills that include language skills as well as technology skills is just one of her passions.

Offering courses focusing on German-American contributions to the United States or courses of how to do business in German-speaking countries contribute to an expanded view for students who learn to see the world from multiple perspectives and will therefore be better prepared for any area of employment.
