These scholarships are awarded competitively on the basis of academic merit. These scholarships are granted in dollar amounts according to available funds. In the current 2012-13 academic year, the value of each scholarship is about $8750, which represents a large portion, but not all of the tuition and fees for full-time graduate students. These awards are good for one year. For their second year, all graduate students are eligible to apply for Graduate Assistantships in the department.
