A Writer's Resources at Wright State University

A wide range of resources is available to you at Wright State. You may find the following resources helpful in achieving success in your ENG 101 and 102 courses.

University Writing Center

Writers need feedback from other writers in order to fully benefit from the writing process. You can find well-trained writing consultants in the University Writing Center. Undergraduate and graduate students from many different majors can assist you with generating ideas, organizing and developing those ideas, and becoming an effective editor of your own work. These consultants can even teach you the basics of Microsoft Word or be on hand to give you tips as you work independently on your papers.

Services available at the Writing Center include assistance with:

  • Using Microsoft Word

  • Improving punctuation

  • Developing proper formatting techniques

  • Correcting grammar

  • Generating, organizing, and developing ideas

Questions about grammar, punctuation, and format can be answered quickly by calling the Writer’s Hotline at 775-2158 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays.

Writing Center hours vary from quarter to quarter, with expanded hours during fall, winter, and spring terms. Weekly or one-time appointments are available, or you may simply stop by on the hour or half-hour.
