Elective Options Available to M.A. Candidates
All students in the M.A. programs in Literature and Composition/Rhetoric may take 20 or more hours of electives. Students must fulfill the elective requirement by taking 600 or 700-level courses in English or in an approved related field. While students are not required to concentrate their elective courses in a particular area, they are encouraged to consider choosing their elective classes in a field which will reinforce or complement the rest of their program of study. The following suggested elective configurations represent some of the ways students may focus their elective course work. Students should meet with the graduate advisor to discuss this issue.
The options listed in the linked pdf file are available for both the literature and Composition/Rhetoric concentrations.
