Elective Options Available to M.A. Candidates
All students in the M.A. programs in Literature and Composition/Rhetoric may take 9 or more hours of electives. Students must fulfill the elective requirement by taking 6000 or 7000-level courses in English or in an approved related field. While students are not required to concentrate their elective courses in a particular area, they are encouraged to consider choosing their elective classes in a field which will reinforce or complement the rest of their program of study. Students should meet with the graduate advisor to discuss this issue.
