Course Requirements for M.A. in Composition & Rhetoric

  • CORE COURSES (8 hours)

  • ENG 700 -- Methods and Materials of Research in Writing and Language
  • ENG 711 -- Rhetoric

  • 700-LEVEL COURSES (20 hours)

  • Five additional 700-level courses, at least three of which must be seminars in writing and/or language (ENG 770, 780; prerequisite for all seminars is ENG 700 or 701)

  • ELECTIVES (20-23 hours)

  • Twenty or more additional graduate credit hours (600 or 700 level) in English or an approved related field. Please see "Elective Options" for more information.
