MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

The Classical Humanities Major requires
  • 32 credit hours (eight courses) in Classical Humanities;
  • 24 credit hours in Latin or Greek (six courses, and the 300 level must be reached in at least one of the languages);
  • a 2 credit hour Senior Comprehensive Review.

An abundance of elective hours is available, and double majors in other fields are encouraged.

Related Graduate Degree:

Students of classics and related programs may also be interested in the Master of Humanities Program at WSU.

A Minor in Classical Humanities is also available. The essential requirements are

  • 12 credit hours of language
  • 20 credit hours of other topical courses.
A bachelor's degree in Classical Humanities is a suitable course of study for students who plan to complete their formal education at the undergraduate level; it is also excellent preparation for graduate study in several areas.
