GZK Executive, Steven R. Stanforth, honored at Wright State’s Raj Soin College of Business annual honors ceremony

Steven R. Stanforth, is the 2010 business leader honored at this year’s Beta Gamma Sigma, International Business Honor Society induction ceremony.  

Stanforth who received his B.S. in Business in 1981 in accountancy from Wright State University, shared his insights and business experience with the 24 masters degree students and 45 undergraduate students who were also honored at Wright State’s 35th annual induction ceremony.  

Stanforth is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.  He has been the Vice President of Finance and Administration, CFO, Treasurer, and Secretary of GZK, Inc. (the local franchisee of all Dayton area Arby's & Lee's Famous Recipe restaurants) since 1999.  He is responsible for all financial and administrative functions of the company including financial reporting, banking, acquisitions/divestitures, information technology, real estate, and tax planning/compliance.

Prior to joining GZK, Inc. Stanforth was a shareholder and CFO of TDNA, Inc. an electronic components supplier to Motorola and U.S. Robotics/3Com.  He started his career with the international accounting firm Ernst & Young, providing clients financial reporting, tax consulting, strategic planning, and debt/equity financing services during his twelve years there.

Sanforth  has also been an active officer and/or member of various professional organizations including the WSU Alumni Association, Ohio Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, Institute of Management Accountants, Dayton CFA Society, The Hundred Club, Humane Society of Greater Dayton, Arby’s National Finance Council, and various civic and athletic clubs.  Steve has also served as an instructor for a variety of professional and technical courses for Ernst & Young, OSCPA, IMA and other organizations.  Steve lives in Centerville, Ohio with his wife Mary, daughter Emily, and Labrador retriever. 

Beta Gamma Sigma is the first national business honor society founded in 1913 and provides the highest recognition business practitioners, students and faculty can receive from a business school that is accredited by AACSB-International.
