Dept. of economics

As an economist for the Ohio Legislature, the econometric analysis and the forecasting methodologies that I learned in Wright States Master of Social and Applied Economics were invaluable.

Also, the programs focus on research skills has proven to be a great benefit to me when I am faced with complex financial dilemmas. Strong research skills are incredibly important when I write financial analyses that state legislatures use for the basis for their vote on pending legislation.

The M.S. in economics program at Wright State has been extremely beneficial to my career.

I didn't go into the program intending to get both an M.S. in Social and Applied Economics and an M.B.A., but i only had to take an extra nine classes and the two programs complemented each other. Together, I think they will open doors for my future employment. The individual project and internship required by the programs teach students do research, data analysis, and interpret results and give them great wok experience. The balance between theory and application has prepared me well for a career in the banking industry.

I chose the Master of Science in Social and Applied Economics at Wright State because of the excellent reputation held by the University and the Raj Soin College of Business. It was easy to see the outstanding faculty and challenging curriculum would provide me with the skills necessary to excel in the business world.

The knowledge I gained from the program allowed me to enter the innovative field of strategic sourcing for Fifth Third Bank. I learned to correctly interpret complex data from the cost-benefit analysis and forecasting courses, and that ability has been most beneficial to my career as an analyst. I regularly use those methods in day-to-day activities.

I strongly recommend the first-rate economics graduate program at Wright State University. It has vastly rewarded me.
