| WSU MBA Accounting Class Leads to Jefferson-Schoen Partnership
Little did Chris Jefferson, MBA (2006) and Lindsay Schoen (B.S. 2003, MBA 2006) know when they begin their MBA that it would lead to a lifetime partnership. One accounting class and finishing their Master's degrees together led to a close friendship and marriage this past spring on May 17. Upon graduating from the MBA program at the Raj Soin College of Business, Chris received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award with a 4.0 GPA. Chris currently serves as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and is in charge of a multi-million dollar space system. “I genuinely love my job and serving my country in the process” Chris said. In the summer of 2008, Chris completed his second Masters in Science in Engineering again with a 4.0 GPA. After completing her MBA with a 3.9 GPA, Lindsay found a unique opportunity in Los Angeles working for Ryan Partnership as a marketing specialist on the Heineken account team. Currently, Lindsay is with Sony Pictures Entertainment as a client service specialist in the digital marketing group. “Part of my job is watching movies, trailers and reading scripts. Sometimes I can’t believe I get paid to do it!” Lindsay said. Chris, a native of Washington DC, is a 2003 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. His first assignment was at Wright Patterson Air Force Base working as a test engineer and manager of the Theater Airborne Reconnaissance System (TARS), a 24 hour/all weather reconnaissance system. He later managed integration efforts for the Predator aircraft, an unmanned aerial vehicle. While stationed at Wright Patterson, Chris began his MBA at the Raj Soin College of Business. Lindsay, a native of Fort Recovery, Ohio, completed her undergraduate degree in business with a major in marketing and a minor in management. Lindsay served on the inaugural Student Advisory Board formed by Berkwood Farmer, Dean of the Raj Soin College of Business. She was also the Director of Public Relations for WSU’s Student Government and was selected as the Outstanding Undergraduate Marketing Student in 2003. Her preparation at Wright State and her internship experience led to a full-time marketing position at Reynolds and Reynolds. In 2004, Lindsay decided to pursue her MBA at the Raj Soin College of Business. Chris and Lindsay say that living in Los Angeles has provided some very unique experiences. However, they both miss their families, and plan on returning to Ohio or Washington in the future.
