Dr. Dwight E. Smith-Daniels
Over the past fifteen years, Dr. Smith-Daniels has concentrated his teaching efforts in the areas of Project and Supply Chain Management at the Masters level, in addition to teaching several Doctoral Seminars on those topics. He has developed courses for the Day, Evening, Online, Technology, and Executive MBA programs. In all of his courses, active learning principles are used to engage participants in the various problems that they encounter in their business environment. Dr. Smith-Daniels also conducts seminars and teaches professional development courses on project management to a variety leading technology companies. He served as a faculty liason on a U.S. Department of Commerce grant that was awarded to leading Arizona companies to fund the education of over eight hundred engineers and managers on project and program management from Boeing Helicopters, General Dynamics, Honeywell, Intel, Motorola, On Semi-Conductor, Raytheon Missile Systems and Maricopa County Workforce Connections. On the international front, Dr. Smith-Daniels recently facilitated a executive education program at the China Europe International Business School, one of the leading international executive education programs, on the challenges of global project management. Dr. Smith-Daniels is widely published in the field of project management, with publications in a variety of academic and practitioner journals, including the Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, IIE Transactions, Naval Research Logistics and Production and Inventory Management. His research focuses on Project Management and Planning in Technology and Supply Chain environments, including software, new product and supply chain development. He has served as an Associate Editor for The Project Management Journal, The Journal of Operations Management and the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education. Dr. Smith-Daniels is a member of the Project Management Institute, the leading international society in the field of project management, as well as the Decision Sciences Institute, the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Production and Operations Management Society. He has served as consultant to a number of organizations, including Intel, DialCorp, Honeywell and the J.M. Smucker Co.

Dwight E. Smith-Daniels is Professor and Chair in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management in the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University. He received a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Prior to joining WSU in 2008, Dr. Smith-Daniels was on the faculty of the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, where he was the Director of the MBA Specialization in Supply Chain Management.
