Accounting students qualify for unprecedented twelfth time in National Case Competition Finals

Once again, Wright State University managed to have a team reach the finals of the Student Case Competition held during the National Conference in Denver. The team members this year were Emily Parker, Kate Lash, Jeff Szkody, Jeremy VanNess and Stephanie Jergens. The mantle as director has been transferred from Dr. John Talbott to Maggie Houston, professor of Accountancy. To compete at the conference, the team made a live presentation to a panel of four judges and then provided a response to the judges' question as the Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Utilizing the tools of management accounting, the students analyzed a case for a university and its academic advisory functions, by utilizing effective benchmarking and budgeting tools. The Dayton chapter extends congratulations to the members of the team, Maggie Houston and to Wright State University Accountancy Department and appreciation for their continued support of this IMA program.
