These
activities will be included:
Publications
& presentations: Serving as primary editor of a book,
journal or major section of a book; being author or co-author
of independently published books, chapters, articles, short
fiction or poems in anthologies, papers or presentations delivered
at conferences or meetings of professional organizations at
the regional/state level or above.
Speaking
& news-making:
Making an invited speech to nonprofessional organizations
at the regional/state level or above; speaking on work-related
topics to community groups of 50 or more people; providing
quotes or being cites as the primary source for published
reports on WSU people, programs, research or work of a department
or area in any international, national, state or regional
publication or media outlet, or in a local periodical, circulation
or 25,000 or more.
Recognition
& service:
Receiving awards or honors from, or being elected or appointed
to hold office in professional organizations above the local
level; receiving awards or honors from nonprofessional organizations
with 50 or more members with which you are not affiliated;
serving on the boards of corporations or major nonprofit institutions
or community organizations; or being admitted to national
professional practice associations based on significant expertise,
experience and/or accomplishment beyond that normally expected
of members of your profession.
Artistic
endeavors:
Judging, having major responsibility for organizing or serving
as conductor/director or performer in an independent theatrical
production, recital or concert, being invited to exhibit art
work in one- and two-person shows or major group shows not
affiliated with WSU; or taking major responsibility for production
of a feature or documentary film, videotape, multimedia show,
video teleconference or audio tape intended for distribution
outside the university.
Grants
& research awards:
Being awarded a grant through a selective process by a funding
source outside WSU to conduct research or pursue activities
related to your university work.

These
activities will not be included:
Participating
in or serving as a panelist at conferences, conventions, seminars
and symposia.
Paid
consulting work or workshops.
Book
reviews; abstracts; lectures; or papers presented to classes
or departmental seminars at a school or university; or presentations
to local groups of fewer than 50 members/participants.
Grants
and awards provided by any WSU-affiliated group, including
the Research Council and WSU Foundation, and honors and recognition
from WSU administrators, academic units, and departments.

covered in news articles.)
Activities
of people who are not regular WSU employees, including clinical
faculty, graduate assistants and doctoral candidates. (However,
if such people are involved in the activity with regular WSU
employes, their names should be included in section 2 on the
form.)
Any
item submitted more than three months after the time it occurred
(except during the summer.)
Information
that has or will appear in an article in Dialogue.
