Wright State junior named student ambassador by Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants
Andrew Valerius, a junior majoring in accountancy at the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University, has been selected as the university’s first student ambassador by the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA).
The program is designed to promote the public accounting profession on campuses throughout Ohio. The Department of Accountancy at Wright State is one of only six in the state designated by OSCPA to house such programs.
Valerius will receive a stipend from OSCPA for his duties, which will include holding information sessions, publicizing opportunities for students to interact with professionals and assisting other students in learning about career options in accounting.
Valerius, a Dean’s List honoree, is a member of the Beta Alpha Psi honorary academic fraternity and recipient of the Ernst & Young Scholarship. He competes for the Wright State cross country team, where he has been designated as an NCAA Academic All-American.
