SOC 622 THE SOCIOLOGY OF THE COURTS, LAW AND JUSTICE (Credits: 4) Students will critically examine the process, structure, and effects of the U.S. court system.Special attention will be given to issues of race, class, and other social factors that affect justice in society. PREREQUISITE: SOC 330 OR EQUIVALENT. SOC 632 PENOLOGY (Credits: 4) Historical development and critical assessment of penal institutions. Field visits to selected institutions.
