FIN 710 INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT (Credits: 4) Concepts, theories, and techniques underlying the development of investment policies and strategies. PREREQUISITE: MBA 730. FIN 711 SEMINAR IN INVESTMENTS (Credits: 4) Advanced treatment of selected topics in investments including options, futures, and portfolio theory. PREREQUISITE: FIN 710. FIN 742 SEMINAR IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (Credits: 4) Advanced treatment of the theory and practice of long-term financial management. Topics include dividends, leasing, hybrid financing, derivatives and risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. PREREQUISITE: MBA 730. FIN 743 SEMINAR IN WORKING CAPITAL MANAGEMENT (Credits: 4) Advanced treatment of the theory and practice of working capital management, including cash management, credit policy, inventory policy, and short-term financing strategies. Extensive use of outside readings. PREREQUISITE: MBA 730. FIN 750 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS (Credits: 4) Overview of the financial management function in health care organizations. Topics include budgeting, control, capital expenditure analysis, and rate settings. PREREQUISITE: MBA 730. FIN 760 SPECIAL TOPICS IN FINANCE (Credits: 4) In-depth analysis of a current trend in finance. Titles vary. PREREQUISITE: MBA 730. FIN 780 FINANCE INTERNSHIP (Credits: 4 TO 8) One-quarter internship in a selected private or governmental organization under the direction of a faculty advisor and employment supervisor. PREREQUISITE: COMPLETION OF AT LEAST 7 CORE COURSES. FIN 781 SPECIAL STUDIES IN FINANCE (Credits: 1 TO 4) Intensive reading or research in a selected field of advanced finance. FIN 790 SEMINAR IN INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (Credits: 4) Advanced treatment of the concepts and techniques of international financial management. PREREQUISITE: MBA 730.
