Graduate ProgramsBack to Program List | Program Website Economics EducationIntroductionThe Center for Economic Education has been established as a center of excellence to increase economic understanding in a designated 15-county area through a number of community outreach programs.Program DescriptionThe center offers courses designed for the special needs of kindergarten through twelfth grade teachers and administrators. Each course helps participants develop an understanding of economic principles and concepts and demonstrates materials and methods useful in teaching the K12 curricula. Participants are challenged to develop teaching units for their classrooms or schools.Although graduate credit is awarded for these courses, this credit may not be applied toward the M.B.A. or M.S. in Social and Applied Economics degrees. The Center for Economic Education offers in-service training to teachers on a wide range of educational topics. Workshops provide a practical approach to teaching that can be useful in preparing for proficiency testing.
