Governor Bob Taft and Ohio legislators agree that a more rigorous core curriculum is necessary for high school students. Graduation requirements need to be strengthened in such areas as science and math to better prepare students for success in college or on the job. In a project aimed toward reaching this goal, more than 200 teachers are going to school this summer to increase their proficiency in science and mathematics education.

The WSU Raj Soin College of Business chapter was selected among the top 10 in the nation for 2006 in competition with 430 Society for Human Resource Management student chapters.
