WSU graduate student national winner of scholarship from human resources society
Megan Leasher, a Wright State University doctoral student in industrial and organizational psychology, has been selected the national winner of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation Graduate Student Leader Scholarship.
Leasher was selected on the basis of her leadership abilities, scholastic achievement and community service duties. She will receive a cash prize and plaque for the honor at the SHRM national conference this June in San Diego.
The Miami Valley Human Resource Association will finance her trip to San Diego to receive the award. Virgil McDaniel, president of the Miami Valley chapter, said the organization is “extremely proud of her talent and the recognition this brings to her, our organization and Wright State.”
Leasher is in her second year as president of the Wright State SHRM student chapter, which was recently selected among the top 10 in the nation. She also is a member of the Miami Valley Human Resource Association Board of Directors. Leasher holds a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Wright State.
SHRM is an international human resources organization that honors one graduate student a year in this national competition.
