Ethical Marketplace television series on WPTD sponsored by WSU Institute for Business Integrity

The Institute for Business Integrity (IBI) in the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University is sponsoring a 13-part public television series titled “The Ethical Marketplace” that will debut on Sunday, March 20, on WPTD, ThinkTV, Channel 16, in Dayton.

The institute developed the financial lifestyle television magazine series to support its goal of enhancing the moral competency of current and future business leaders and to promote responsible practices in the business community.

The 30-minute program will be shown at 11:30 a.m., between Bill Moyer’s “NOW” and “The McLaughlin Group.” The show will run through June 12, with repeats to follow into September. The program is expected to interest stock market investors, the business community and those interested in ethical business practices.

The pilot will serve as a welcome to the series, and future topics will include redefining success, global corporate social responsibility, investing in your community, shareholder activism, women owned businesses, health and wellness, and socially responsible investing.

“This series can enhance business education by providing positive economic policies and business practices while enhancing the moral dimensions of each business function,” said Joseph A. Petrick, Ph.D., IBI director and a professor of management at Wright State.

Petrick said the news, features, interviews, roundtables and expert commentary will probe the assumptions behind the issues that affect consumers and investors and look at assets and wealth in a new perspective. “The show uses new indicators to measure our quality of life and examine how individuals can align their money and their values,” Petrick explained. “Like reality television, the show will invite viewers to participate through an interactive Web site.”
