Discover the "Land of the Morning Calm" at Wright State's Asian Culture Night

As part of its 2009 Asian Heritage Month celebration, Wright State University will present Asian Culture Night on Saturday, April 11. The evening showcases music, dance and clothing from at least seven different countries.

This year's theme is "Beautiful Korea," featuring Chicago-based dance troupe Little Ol Korea. In addition to performing traditional Korean folk dances such as the drum dance, the fan dance and the sword dance, Little Ol Korea will conduct a Korean wedding ceremony. During the ceremony, they will sing "Arirang," a popular Korean song.

Guests will be treated to a fashion show of contemporary and traditional Asian garments. Countries represented on the runway will include China, India, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The event will be held in the WSU Student Union Apollo Room at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 5–12.

For tickets or more information contact the Asian/Hispanic/Native American Center at (937) 775-2798 or visit http://www.wright.edu/admin/ahna. Tickets are also available at Wright State University’s Student Union Box Office at (937) 775-5544.
