Two New International Exchange Programs Focus on Business

Two new international exchange programs will give Raj Soin College of Business students and faculty a chance to experience firsthand how business is conducted in southeast Asia and Europe.
Paulette Olson, professor of economics, and Maggie MacDonald, associate professor of English and linguistics director, TESOL, led efforts to establish an exchange program with Ho Chi Minh City Open University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Wright State University. Besides giving students a concentrated experience on conducting business in the global marketplace, the programs will also provide internship opportunities and faculty exchanges between the two universities. Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam and the economic powerhouse of the region. Situated in the fertile south along the banks of the Saigon River, Ho Chi Minh City is a resilient and vibrant city thriving as a result of global investment and international trade opportunities.
Monica Snow, director of Business and International Programs, led an efforts to establish an exchange agreement with the Institute Européen dEtudes Commerciales Supérieures/Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, France. The city of Strasbourg is situated at the crossroads of Europe in an area known as the golden triangle of research and innovation. The region of Alsace is in the forefront of European economic development. Numerous foreign-owned companies have operations in the region because of its reputation for high worker productivity and high exports per capita. Strasbourg is also home to the Council of Europe, the European Central Bank, and the European Court of Human Rights.
