Finalists Again: Wright State’s Financial Services Team
A team comprised of Melissa Gossard, Mark Geist, and David Ladd representing the Raj Soin College Business’ Financial Services Program has for the second year in a row earned top honors and advanced to the final round of competition of the American Express Financial Planning Invitational.
Competing against more than 30 other major universities such as Virginia Tech, Purdue University, Kansas State University, and Ohio State University, the team from Wright State has advanced to the final round of competition to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 13–16.
In the first round, the teams were given a client profile from which to write a comprehensive personal financial plan using no commercial planning software and without assistance from professors or practicing professionals.
The final round of competition, to be held in Minneapolis at the world headquarters of American Express Financial Services, consists of a presentation of the plan to a panel of judges and a Jeopardy-like knowledge game.
