Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation, as any painter's or sculptor's work; for what is the having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God's spirit? It is one of the Fine Arts: I had almost said, the finest of Fine Arts. -Florence Nightingale |
Favorite thing about Wright State: I love that all of the professors are easily accessible. Everyone here is always friendly and I love the tunnels especially during rain or in the winter. |
Favorite Class/Professor: The anatomy series was great, especially the lab. I loved having Dan Miska as a professor and I am actually an undergraduate assistant in the anatomy lab for ANT 310, 311, and 312 |
Do you live on campus? I don't live on campus; I live in Windsor Place apartments. |
Best place to study: Fordham Health Sciences Library |
Favorite Wright State experience: My first day of nursing classes when you finally get to see who all you'll pretty much see for the rest of your college career. |
What clubs or organizations are you involved in? I am a class representative for NUR 218,321, 324 and I also did that for NUR 209. I am in the College Republicans club and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I am involved in SMART as the business manager and intramural sports (volleyball and softball). I also am taking the University Honors portion of the curriculum here which includes a project. |
Favorite thing to do on the weekends: Sleep in! Since most of my classes are early morning I rarely get to sleep in and it is so nice when I get to. |
Favorite movie or TV show: My favorite tv shows are Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, and House. |
What advice would you give a high school student about having a good experience here? Get involved and try new things outside of your comfort zone. It will pay off. |
Why did you choose Wright State? I chose WSU because I was able to come here on almost full scholarship. Plus it's a commuter school which worked out for me since I wanted to live off campus. |
