What Type of Typist Are You?

Accessibility Ally Training Series

Do you...

Create headings by making text big and bold?  Make links by pasting URLs into your documents? Add images without alternative text?

Uh Oh...

Through these and other common old-school practices, faculty unwittingly create barriers for students who use assistive technologies. Content may be hard to navigate, may come out garbled, or may not be readable at all, even though it looks perfectly fine.

The good news: It often takes no more work to make accessible documents. You just do things differently. The benefits go beyond helping students with disabilities. You may even save time.

The Center for Teaching and Learning offers a series of workshops to help you learn best practices for making accessible electronic documents.
