Educators in Industry

Educators in Industry is a 4-day summer workshop to help participants become more acquainted with business and industry, build new partnerships and find ways to make learning real for students of all ages. Participants will spend the week touring local companies and meeting community leaders. If you like workshops that keep you out of your seat – this one is for you. You may take this 4-day course for three graduate credit hours for $399 or you may receive a certificate of contact hours ($50).

It is not to late to catch the personal financial literacy wave! Take this 2-day workshop that will introduce personal finance topics like decision making, the value of education, the value of money, credit– how to get it and how to manage it, investing and providing financial protection for yourself. This workshop is endorsed by the Ohio Department of Education in their "Personal Financial Literacy Implementation Plan, 2008" as a strongly recommended professional development resource for educators teaching Personal Financial Literacy. There is a $50 workshop fee due at the time of registration. This course can be taken for three graduate quarter credit hours by completing the course and additional online modules for $399 in addition to the workshop fee. One session focuses on grades 9 through12 and the other on grades 7 and 8.
Herchel's World DVD Series

The DVD series and accompanying curriculum Herschel's World of Economics will charm elementary age students. Herchel is a feisty little puppet dog that thinks he knows a lot about economics, but still has a lot to learn. In this series Herschel learns about important economic concepts identified in national and state standards and helps convey it to students. Get ready to watch your students interact with Herschel – who will charm and fascinate your students! You may take this course for 3 graduate quarter hours by completing the two-day workshop and online course modules for $399 OR you may attend the workshop for $50 and receive contact hours. The Herchel's World of Economics DVD can be purchased for an additional cost.
Economics Sampler for Elementary Grades

This workshop will introduce you to a number of resources that can be used to teach state and national economic standards to grades PK-4. The curriculum guides include Chocolate Economics, Play Dough Economics, and Teaching Economics Using Children's Literature. This workshop will leave you with a host of new ideas to use in your classroom that your students are sure to LOVE! You may receive one graduate quarter hour for $133 by completing the workshop and an additional online module OR you may take the workshop for $50 and receive contact hours.
About the Workshops
- These workshops can be taken for optional graduate credit by way of workshop attendance and an online module.
- All graduate credit will be offered at a REDUCED RATE 0f $133 per credit hour (regularly #363 per credit hour).
- Requirements for graduate credit will be given the day of the event
- Pre-registration is required.
- Individuals taking the workshops for graduate credit are given registration priority.
