Insurance Basics for Teachers
is sponsored by the Ohio Insurance Institute and is taught by Wright State
University’s Center for Economic Education.
ECO 516-06 is taught online and there are no class meetings to attend.
WebCt is used as the instructional platform.
All instruction, communications, and correspondence take place over the
Internet and via email. This course, designed for high school teachers with
minimal knowledge of insurance, provides sufficient knowledge to
teach basic property and casualty insurance principles.
The course covers various forms of insurance, including auto,
health, disability, life (whole life and term), homeowners, renters, pet,
boat, and motorcycle insurance, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. At
least one lesson plan is included for each assignment; student activity
worksheets are included for some assignments.
