WINGS Express: Finance Documents, FOAPAL, and Approvals

Prerequisite: WINGS Express Finance access.

This hands-on session starts with an introduction to the Banner Chart of Accounts (FOAPAL) and the forms that may be viewed in WINGS Express Finance. Step-by-step instructions and examples are used to walk through creating and approving Journal Vouchers for expense/budget transfers in a test environment, with the opportunity to ask questions.

WINGS Express: Finance Reconciliation and Queries

Prerequisite: WINGS Express Finance access.

This hands-on workshop walks through steps users can take to reconcile, determine encumbrances outstanding, and find the "bottom line" balance of their own fund/orgs. We will also discuss helpful hints, strategies, using Excel for downloads, and basics of the Budget Queries. Users will have time to look at their own fund/orgs in class and ask questions, as well as review any source documents they wish to focus on.

Introduction to WINGS

Learn more about the exciting new features available through WINGS, including email, calendar, channels and groups. This workshop is designed to help attendees achieve basic portal navigation skills that will allow them to move around within the portal, open applications through the Web, and personalize WINGS to appeal to their individual needs. We will also begin using both email and calendar applications.

WINGS Calendar

This workshop will include an introduction to the web-based calendar application within WINGS. We will be reviewing date navigation, viewing options, creating new events and tasks, inviting users and resources, event searching, creating a repeating event, RSVPing to an invitation and setting options. The last half of this workshop will cover more in-depth calendar features such as setting ownership and permissions, subscribing to users' calendars, creating calendar sets, and finally, reviewing tips and strategies to help you get the most from your WINGS calendar. For our PDA using clientele, instructions will be available for sychronizing your PDA with this calendar.

WINGS Course Studio

Utilize the tools within Course Studio to enhance communication and collaboration within your class. This workshop will review how to create and manage the course homepage, including sharing files, adding links, articles, photo content, and announcements, posting a course syllabus, setting up message boards with topics to prompt class discussion, adding assignment due dates to the course calendar, specifying the applications (ie: Chat, Message Boards, Files) available to students and e-mailing all students without having to enter any data.

WINGS Messenger Express

This workshop focuses on the use of the Messenger Express webmail client. Topics include sending and receiving mail, sorting mail, creating addresses and address books, e-mail folder management, and general use of the Messenger Express system. Also included will be a survey of the various options and settings that enhance the use of the system.

Tk20 Data Management System

This workshop will train students in the use of Tk20 Campus Tools. The main objective of the course is to demonstrate the completion of an Assignment within the Tk20system and familiarize students with the interface. Students will also learn how to log into the system, view assignments, create an artifact, attach the artifact to an assignment, and submit an assignment.
