Introduction to Dreamweaver CS4

With Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 you can easily add content to an existing website, including viewing, editing, creating, and publishing pages. This workshop will cover topics such as site management, formatting text, inserting tables and images, working with links, and customizing your Dreamweaver work environment.

Access 2007 Part 1
This workshop will introduce you to the concept of a database and how to use it. Much time will be devoted to database theory and proper database design. Topics discussed will include tables, fields, records, relationships and relationship types, primary keys, foreign keys, simple database normalization, and database planning and diagramming. You will then be introduced to the new Access 2007 interface and will begin building a database in Access 2007. Also covered in the workshop are an introduction to data types and how to build tables. Although Access 2007 is the software program used in this course, the concepts learned can carry over to any database software package.
Access 2007 Part 2
Prerequisite(s): Part 1 or equivalent experience.
This workshop will build upon the concepts learned in Access 2007 Part 1. You will continue to build tables in Access 2007 and be introduced to some advanced options within the table design, including the assigning of primary keys, indices, and forming data input masks. You will also learn how to build table relationships learned from Part 1 into your database design. You will then learn query design, including SELECT, UPDATE, APPEND, and DELETE queries, along with advanced query criteria. You will then be introduced to form creation.
Access 2007 Part 3
Prerequisite(s): Parts 1 and 2 or equivalent experience.
This workshop will build upon concepts learned in Access 2007 Parts 1 & 2. You will continue learning about form creation, both through the use of wizards and via manual design. You will also learn to develop multiple forms that work together to create a search through the forms. By the end of this workshop, you will understand how to navigate records and add/delete records through the use of forms. Form properties will also be discussed. You will then be introduced to reports and create and format reports via wizards and manual creation.
Access 2007 Part 4
Prerequisite(s): Parts 1, 2, and 3 or equivalent experience.
This workshop will conclude discussion of forms and reports. You will develop an entire database, from beginning to end, utilizing lessons learned in the previous sections.
Excel 2007: Formatting & Basic Calculations
This workshop will introduce you to Excel 2007 and the concept of using an electronic spreadsheet. Topics will include some of the new features of Excel 2007, such as the Ribbon and the Microsoft Office Button. Other topics will include Excel terminology, exploring the Excel window, navigating the window, selecting and working with data, performing basic calculations and formulas, and formatting.
Excel 2007: Formulas & Functions
Prerequisite(s): Excel 2007: Formatting & Basic Calculations or equivalent experience.
This workshop will introduce you to Excel 2007 and the concept of using an electronic spreadsheet. You will learn some of the new features of Excel 2007, such as the Ribbon and the Microsoft Office Button. Topics will include commonly used formulas and functions such as conditional formatting, lookups, counting, and text. You will also spend time in this workshop exploring any basic formulas or functions you are interested in.
Excel 2007: Tables, Charts, & Graphics
Prerequisite(s): Excel 2007: Formatting & Basic Calculations and Formulas & Functions or equivalent experience.
This workshop will introduce you to Excel 2007 and the concept of using and electronic spreadsheet. We will discuss some of the new features of Excel 2007, such as the Ribbon and the Microsoft Office Button. Topics will include inserting basic table and charts and manipulating them within the new environment. Other topics will include using graphics such as pictures, ClipArt, and shapes, as well as new features, such as Smart Art.
PowerPoint 2007: Creating a Basic Presentation
This workshop takes you through the basics of PowerPoint 2007 to get a PowerPoint presentation up and running. You will learn how to create slides, utilize built-in themes to give your slides a professional, polished look, and complete the final steps to help you proof your work, print handouts, and package the presentation onto a CD.
PowerPoint 2007: Custom Layouts & Graphics
Prerequisite(s): PowerPoint 2007: Creating a Basic Presentation or equivalent experience.
This workshop will discuss PowerPoint 2007 layout and graphics choices. We will discuss custom layouts, including how to create your own custom layout that you can save as a template to use in other presentations. We'll take a look at the new SmartArt graphics, used to create organizational charts and much more, and finish up by looking at ways to do more with your color, shape, and text choices.
PowerPoint 2007: Adding Animations & Transitions
Prerequisite(s): PowerPoint 2007: Creating a Basic Presentation and Custom Layouts & Graphics or equivalent experience.
This workshop will explore how to add animation to your slides. You will learn how to add sounds, moving graphics, and animations to your slides. You will also learn how to add transition effects that occur slide-to-slide.
Word 2007: Customizing Word & Formatting Documents
This training will introduce the new look and feel of Word 2007. You will become familiar with Word’s new layout, including the new Ribbon and Tabs structure. You will also be exposed to topics that will introduce the concepts of creating basic documents. Topics covered in this course include using Word Help, printing and formatting documents, customizing Word to meet users’ day to day needs, tables, visual effects and graphics, and other topics. After completing this course, you should feel comfortable with upgrading to Word 2007 for basic document creation. Customization of Word should also allow you to use the new version more intuitively and more efficiently.
Word 2007: Automation of Tasks & Mail Merges
Prerequisite(s): Word 2007: Customizing Word & Formatting Documents or equivalent experience.
This training is a slightly more advanced continuation of the Customizing Word and Formatting Documents workshop. In this class there will be more extensive coverage of Word’s more involved topics. You will learn to customize documents, create lists, automate everyday tasks, modify and insert graphics, perform mail merges, and more. After completing this class, you should have a greater understanding of new Word features and be more confident with Word 2007. You will be more proficient with Word 2007 and will be able to create more advanced, appealing documents.
Introduction to Windows Vista
This is an introduction to the basics of Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System. Topics include navigating the Windows environment (including the desktop and start menu), manipulating windows, starting applications, browsing for files and folders, and a survey of the free utilities included with Windows. This will be a hands on course in which you will follow steps to complete basic Windows operations. No previous Windows experience is required for this course.

Introduction to WINGS
Learn more about the exciting features available through WINGS, the university web portal. This workshop is designed to help you achieve basic navigation skills that will allow you to move around within the portal, open applications through the Web, and personalize WINGS to appeal to your individual needs.
Introduction to Communications Express: Mail & Calendar
This workshop will include an introduction to the web-based calendar and mail application called Communications Express. We will be reviewing date navigation, viewing options, creating new events and tasks, inviting users and resources, searching for events, and creating repeating events. This workshop will also cover more in-depth calendar features such as setting ownership and permissions, subscribing to users' calendars, creating calendar sets, and finally, reviewing tips and strategies to help you get the most from your calendar. For clientele that use PDAs, instructions will be available for synchronizing your PDA with this calendar. The second half of the session will focus on the use of the Communications Express webmail client. Topics include sending and receiving mail, sorting mail, creating and sharing addresses and address books, e-mail folder management, and general use of the Communications Express webmail system. Also included will be a survey of the various options and settings that enhance the use of the system.
Tk20 Workshop
This workshop will train you in the use of Tk20 Campus Tools. The main objective of the course is to demonstrate the completion of an Assignment within the Tk20 system and familiarize you with the interface. You will also learn how to log into the system, view assignments, create an artifact, attach the artifact to an assignment, and submit an assignment.
