Mathworks Matlab
for Engineering/Computer Science Students

MATLAB is a high-level technical computing language and interactive environment for algorithm development, data visualization, data analysis, and numeric computation. Using the MATLAB product, you can solve technical computing problems faster than with traditional programming languages, such as C, C++, and Fortran.

Students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science that have paid the CECS technology fee can receive a license for Matlab. To obtain the software and a license, go to the Matlab Student Licensing page.

Mathematica for faculty and staff

Wolfram Research has made Mathematica available for home use by WSU faculty and staff. Mathematica home-use software is available online at http://www.wolfram.com/solutions/highered/homeuse.cgi.

The website will bring up an online questionnaire that must be filled out in order to obtain the Mathematica software. You will need to provide Wright State University's site license number, which is L2345-0764. It is required that employment status be verified as part of the request. In the Proof of Eligibility section of the form, click on the first button ("My status can be verified via our online staff directory at the following URL:") and enter http://www.wright.edu/cgibin/ldap.cgi .

The procedure above will work for those who are requesting a home-use copy of Mathematica for the first time as well as for those who wish to upgrade existing home-use copies of the software to the newest version. Those in the latter category must provide their existing home-use license number.
