Apple / HP / MPC/Omni Tech / Pomeroy / Sony / Viewsonic / Non-Warranty

Getting Started
For warranty repair on MPC/OmniTech equipment a simple call to the CaTS Help Desk will get the process started. See the information below for more details.

However, many other companies will ask for the serial number of the equipment and a copy of the packing slip or invoice in order the have equipment repaired. To get a copy of this paperwork, you will need to know the purchase order number for your computer or printer. Once you have the PO number call Accounts Payable and request a copy of the invoice and packing slip.

AP Contacts

Items ordered using a WSU credit card can be handled in a similar manner, however, all paperwork (receipts invoices, etc.) for these orders are the responsibility of your department.

If equipment must be returned to the company or sent to a repair center, your department will be responsible for shipping charges.

Before You Ship
Before sending any iame off campus for repair, it is important that the vendor provide you with a tracking number. This number, often called an RMA or Reference Number, should be clearly marked on the outside of the box as well as recorded by your office for future reference.

Items have been lots in shipping and without some type of tracking number, there is no way to search for the item. If you are shipping an item out via Receiving, make sure that the RMA number is clearly printed on the outside of the box and that you record any shipment number used by the carrier service (ie: FedEx, UPS.)

We also recommend attaching a note directly on the equipment indicating the tracking number and a contact name and phone number. This can be as simple as taping your business card to the equipment.
