Choosing Macintosh
CaTS supports Macintosh systems running MacOS X 10.3 and greater. The full line of Apple Macs, iMacs, MacBooks, Mac mini and iPod products is available at special WSU pricing at the WSU/Apple Online Store.

IMPORTANT SUPPORT NEWS: July 18, 2006
Apple is now using Intel processors in most models, discontinuing PowerPC G5 Macs. Due to this change in CPUs, not all existing software is fully compatible with new Macs. Some software may run slower or have performance issues.

CaTS does not currently recommend or support BootCamp or other software for running the Windows operating system on Macs.

For more information, please contact Verne Smith or Peter Hein in CaTS.
MINIMUM SYSTEM RECOMMENDATIONS: July 18, 2006
Mac systems are available with Intel processors running at various speeds. Your Macintosh should be configured with a minimum of 512mb RAM, while 1gb is strongly recommended. The iMac is the most popular model for typical computing needs. For those who prefer a portable, the MacBook or MacBook Pro models are available.

If you are unsure of which Macintosh will best suit your needs, you can arrange a consultation by contacting the CaTS Help Desk at extension 4827.
