Personal and Class Disk Space
All students are issued a CAMPUS Computing account. This account is required to log in to CaTS lab machines and provide students with both personal and class disk space on network file servers. After logging in, you can access personal disk space through the H:\ drive in Windows or the Student1.Users server on a Macintosh. You can store up to 50 MB of data on this server.
You are also given access to a shared area for storing common class materials. Instructors will explain the correct use of this area in more detail. After logging in, the shared area will appear as the K:\ drive in Windows and as the Student1.Shared server on a Macintosh. Only faculty members can delete or overwrite files stored on the shared server.
Students who work for the university can use their CAMPUS accounts to log in to any machine connected to the CaTS network, however, any computer that is not located in a CaTS labs will require the full context. Students should use their work accounts while working, not their student accounts. Student full contexts are in the following form:
.username.lastinitial.students.wright
For example, a student named John Smith whose username is w001jas has the following full context:
.w001jas.s.students.wright
This full context is NOT required in the CaTS computer labs (only the username is required).
Printing in CaTS Labs
All CaTS labs in the Library, Library Annex, Residence Halls, and many other locations now use the PrintWright pay-for-print system. PrintWright requires students to use their WrightOne picture identification cards.
