Synching the Portal Calendar with a Palm Pilot/PDA
PC version (Windows 98 and above)

Your personal Portal Calendar can be synched with other electronic calendars. The actual installation process takes about 10 minutes: downloading the software, installing it, and performing the first synch. Subsequent synchs take a minute or two, depending upon the size of your calendar.

Step 1: Installing the Software

  • The Sun ONE sync files are located in the Novell Application Launcher. Double click on the SunONE Sync.exe file
  • Click Next at the Welcome screen and click Yes to accept the license agreement
  • Click Next on user info and click Next on installation location
  • When the install process asks which components you would like to use, choose:
    • Palm OS Devices
    • Palm Desktop 3.x/4.0
    • Pocket PC
  • Click on Next
  • Click Next once again to complete the install
  • The software will be installed.  Click on Finish to complete the installation

Step 2: Configuring the Software

  • From the Start menu on your PC, go to the Programs Tab, find the Sun ONE Synchronization tab, and choose Synchronize Sun ONE with Palm OS Devices or Synchronize Sun ONE with Pocket PC
  • On the main screen, click on Sun ONE, then click the Configure button
  • Within the Translators screen, choose the Calendar tab and enter
    • Server address as scs1.wright.edu
    • Port as 6785
    • Optional:  at the Accounting Settings area, you may put in your CAMPUS Username and Password and click the remember password
  • Click on OK

Step 3: Synching

  • Click on the Synchronize button and press the Sync button on your palm device
  • Enter your CAMPUS User Name/Password at the prompt (unless you put it in the Account Settings area) and click on OK
  • The software will examine all of your calendar events and add new/changed items to your Portal Calendar
  • If there is a conflict, a warning message appears. The default configuration prompts you to choose which event version you prefer.

Step 4:  Ongoing Synching

  • From the Start menu on your PC, go to the Programs tab, find the Sun ONE Synchronization tab, and choose Synchronize Sun ONE with Palm DT
  • Click on the Synchronize button
  • Enter your User Name/Password at the prompt (unless you put it in the Account Settings area) and click on OK
  • The software will examine all of your calendar events and add new/changed items to your Portal Calendar
  • If there is a conflict, a warning message appears. The default configuration prompts you to choose which event version you prefer.
