MBA 755 Students Bring Management Expertise to Matrix BSC

Project Overview

Description of the Company:

Matrix BSC assists businesses with the management of computer systems, including seeking a new software solution, and resolution of hardware or software problems.  It offers computer installation, software development, system upgrades, software management, and other computer system services.

Company’s Business Problem:
Matrix Business Solutions, Inc. wished to enhance their business plan, marketing objectives, and strategic implications of RFID technology on their business.

How the student contributed:
The students performed a two-phase business plan review for Matrix BSC.  They first identified the corporation’s strengths and improvement opportunities.  In the second phase, the students further developed the plan’s marketing plan section and polished the financial statements.  Another group of students studied recent developments of RFID and applied them to MBA to create opportunities through additional services added.

“I was impressed with the detail of the work that the students did. They were able to rework the Matrix business plan and provide numerous improvements in virtually every aspect of the plan.”

Student Value

“As a student or an entry-level employee, chances to use any management skills are few and far between. In this project, students use what they have learned in the classroom to assist a real business”
“Being part of real life situations allows the student to question why a particular decision was made and decipher the affect an outside influence may have over the decision. This interaction between the students and the business owners is invaluable. “
