- How soon can I start
and when do classes begin?
For the part-time evening program, once you
are accepted, you can start the following quarter. The
weekend program and full–time program begin in the Fall
Quarter each year.

deadline?
The application deadline varies by the
program you select.Full-time MBA program:
Apply by April 15 to be accepted the following Fall.
Part-time weekend
program: Apply by August 1 for the following
Fall.

- Do I need to submit
three letters of reference or are the names
sufficient?
You do not need to submit
letters of reference. You do need to provide a
list of three references with their complete contact
information on the application form.

- Do I need to write an
essay?
You do not need to write an essay unless you
applying a graduate assistantship or tuition scholarship for
the full-time program.

- What
transcripts do I need to submit and how do I request a
transcript?
Please request and provide transcripts from
all colleges and universities previously attended. If courses
from one university or college appear on another university's
or college's transcript, the applicant is still required to
submit an official transcript from the university or college
where the course was taken. Send all official transcripts
directly to the School of Graduate Studies.

- I don't have an
undergraduate degree in business. Am I eligible for your MBA
program?
Yes. The 500-level foundation courses
in accounting, finance, economics and quantitative business
analysis provide the knowledge and practice you need if you
do not have bachelor’s degree in business. These
courses are also offered for students with a bachelor’s
degree in business if these students need to update their
knowledge in a particular foundation area of
business.

- I have already been
accepted in Wright State’s School of Graduate
Studies. Do I still need to submit an
application?
Yes, you do need to submit an application in
order to enroll in our MBA program. If you mail, fax or drop
off the application fee to the School of Graduate Studies,
you will not be charged an additional application
fee.

- What does it cost to
apply?
The application fee is $40.

- Can I pay the
application fee with cash, check or by money order?
You can pay in cash only if you apply on the
Main Campus at the School of Graduate Studies. Otherwise,
please mail a check or money order with your application
materials to the School of Graduate Studies.

- What is the minimum
GMAT score to gain admission to the MBA program?
Our admission requirements are a combination
of your undergraduate GPA and your GMAT score. An 1100 point
minimum admission index. (College GPA x 200 + GMAT Score) Our
average GMAT score is 550.

- Do you waive the
GMAT for qualified students?
If you have a Master's degree from a
accredited college or university, you do not need to take the
GMAT.

- Can I start before I
submit my GMAT scores?
If you apply and request admission on a
provisional basis, you can take up to two courses before
submitting your GMAT scores. Provisional admission also
requires a high undergraduate G.P.A. and is granted on a case
by case basis.

for information and practice questions. There are numerous
print and on line study guides that you can purchase in any
local bookstore. Our Lake Campus in Celina offers GMAT
preparation courses. We do not offer prep courses at
our other locations.

If you have a master’s degree from an
accredited university, you do not need to take the GMAT.

May I use my GRE
scores as a substitute for the GMAT?
If you receive a score of 550 on both parts of the GRE, we
will accept those scores instead of the GMAT test
results.

- I have started an
MBA program at another university. How many credits can
I transfer?
If the program is AACSB accredited, you can
transfer up to twelve credit hours under a quarter system or
up to eight credit hours under a semester system.

- I have extensive
professional work experience in business. Will you
substitute my work experience for specific courses?
Because our college and our degree programs
are accredited by AACSB-International, we do not substitute
work experience for course requirements. Your
experience will enable you to contribute more fully to
certain courses in the program and will definitely be valued
our faculty and your fellow students.

- How long does it take
to complete the program?
The duration of the program depends on the
option you chose. The full-time program takes one
year. The part-time weekend program takes two
years. The part-time evening program can be completed
at your own pace and takes from one to five years.

- How many courses and
credits do I need to take?
Total credit hours for the program range from
48 credit hours (12 courses) to 64 credit hours (16
courses). Students who do not have a previous
bachelor’s degree in business are required to take four
500-level foundation courses (i.e. 16 courses).
Students who have an undergraduate degree in business from a
number of years ago, may be required to take some or all of
the 500-level foundation courses.

- Do I need to take the
500-level foundation courses?
If you do not have a bachelor’s degree
in business from an AACSB accredited program, you do need to
take the 500-level foundation courses. Also, if your
bachelor’s degree in business and your knowledge of
accounting, finance, economics and quantitative business
analysis are not current, you may be required to take some or
all of the 500-level foundation courses.

Can I graduate with
one concentration and re-enroll in the MBA program to
complete a second concentration?
Students interested in pursuing two concentrations must
complete all requirements for both concentrations before
applying for graduation. Though we welcome returning
students that wish to expand their knowledge base, we
encourage them to fulfill all requirements for both
concentrations prior to applying for graduation. For

I am planning on
pursuing a dual masters degree in nursing and
business. How many classes do I need to
take?
By pursuing a dual master's degree, you take three fewer
classes than if you pursued each degree
separately.

international student. Is it necessary to translate all
diplomas and courses or is it sufficient to translate the

You have to provide translations of all

I am an
international student. Do I need to submit my financial

Financial documentation is not needed to be considered for
admission. However, your I20 will not be issued until you
provide your financial documentation.

I am an
international student who has not taken the GMAT or TOEFL
tests yet. Could I be offered conditional admission to study
English at WSU in the intensive English program and satisfy
the language requirements? Then study for and take the GMAT
test?

intensive language - LEAP(Learning English for Academic and
Professional Purposes) program http://www.wright.edu/academics/prog/leap/
prior to being admitted into the MBA program. If you score at
a Level IV in the LEAP program, you can take one MBA course
prior to being fully admitted into the MBA program.

I am a U.S. citizen,
but received my degree at an international university. Do I
need to take the TOEFL English language proficiency
test?
As a U.S. citizen you are not required to submit the TOEFL
test. You would need to complete the domestic application and
submit all other required documents.

I have a three year undergraduate degree from an international university. Do I qualify for the MBA program?
Students who have received a degree in the Third or Pass Division will not be considered for admission to the MBA program. Students with this degree should apply to Wright State as an undergraduate student and take 45 credit hours under the quarter system or 30 credit hours under the semester system beginning in Fall 2012. After completion of these undergraduate credits, the student may apply for admission into the MBA program. For more information regarding international student graduate admissions, please visit:

Does Wright State's
MBA program qualify for the Veteran Administration's Yellow
Ribbon Program?
Wright State University is a participant in the Yellow Ribbon
program for our School of Medicine Students. No. That is
because our MBA and other graduate programs are below the
state cap for tuition and fees. (Our Medical Doctor (MD)
program offered by the School does qualify for the Yellow
Ribbon Program). If you need additional information regarding
