Career ConnectionsEMPLOYERS The Department of Marketing continually strives to keep connections open to our students and the business community. If you are an employer seeking a Marketing student for internships or job opportunities, utilize the Employer Internship Request Form. The Internship Program Quality marketing majors are paired with business mentors. The intern experience provides our students first-hand knowledge of how theories and concepts actually apply in business. In addition, it provides participating businesses with an opportunity to work with, teach, and larn from individuals who will be the marketing leaders of the future. Positions sent to us are posted on our bulletin board and announced in the appropriate marketing classes, as well as posted on our web site. Students will then contact the employer if they are interested in the position. Our department only provides the information that you return to us on the request form. Employers may send their request forms to the following contact: Pola Gupta Phone: (937) 775-3046 Fax: (937) 775-3952 Email: pola.gupta@wright.edu "We regularly recruit strong candidates from Wright State University's Marketing Internship Program. We work closely with the university to ensure students gain valuable insight into a career in sales, and in many cases, achieve a head start on a full-time career as a financial representative. Throughout our company, one in three interns becomes a full-time representative upon graduation; and even those choosing other careers find they have grown in self-confidence, communication skills, and personal self-management skills. We strongly encourage businesses and students alike to take advantage of an internship program." -Jennifer Mansfield-Price, Director of Recruitment and Selection, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network "Having interns in the Marketing Department here at Reynolds and Reynolds has proven to be a huge benefit for us and the students. We aim to provide a challenging learning environment to prepare our interns for the everyday workings of corporate life. I personally have had two interns in the last few years accept marketing positions at Reynolds after graduation. I cannot think of a better way to help determine what you want in a career." -Kasi Westendorf, Marketing Manager, Reynolds & Reynolds "Being an intern at Reynolds and Reynolds not only helped me get my foot in the door for a job upon graduation, it gave me real world experience I needed to truly understand how it applies in the business world. The knowledge I received from my classes helped me succeed in my marketing internship, and the experience I gained as an intern showed me how the class work I was doing actually applied to the business world." -Lindsay Schoen, Marketing Specialist, Reynolds & Reynolds STUDENTS Completing an internship or getting job related experience is an excellent way to network and begin your career portfolio. Students who are interested in job opportunities or internships should routinely check the Department of Marketing Bulletin Board for recent internship and job postings. For additional information on internships, visit Cooperative Education, Honors Program, and Internships. For recent internship or job opportunities review Job Opportunities & Internship Page. Networking is an essential part of a student's educational experience and career. Gather resources through Marketing Club meetings, career fairs, guest speakers, professors, students, friends, and even family! Finding out who has a job that is related to marketing might surprise you.
