Dr. Gupta Receives a Pravasi Achievers Gold Medal
Dr. Pola Gupta, Professor of Marketing received a Pravasi Achievers Gold medal from the NRI Welfare Society of India on September 10, 2010 at a seminar held in the House of Lords in London, UK. Dr. Gupta was one of 25 recipients of the award across the world for his accomplishments in research and teaching.
The NRI welfare Society of India is an organization created to serve the interests of non-resident Indians living abroad. They promote the initiatives taken by Indian professionals throughout the world, and they support their connection to their native culture. Every year, they recognize a select group of non-resident Indians who have demonstrated excellence in their field.
Dr. Gupta also received numerous awards for his research and teaching. He received an Outstanding Research Award for his coauthored paper presented at the 2010 IBFR (Institute for Business and Finance Research) conference, Kona, Hawaii. He was ranked one of the top 20 advertising scholars in the nation. Dr. Gupta’s pioneering research on product placement continues to draw a lot of attention from researchers in the advertising area.
Dr. Gupta has also received Outstanding Marketing Professor of the Year Award three years in a row and Outstanding Research Award in 2006 from the Raj Soin College of Business, Wright State University. He received the Faculty Innovations in Teaching Award in 2000 from the University of Northern Iowa and an honorable mention in Excellence in Teaching Award in from the State University of New York.
