Focus on Cell Signaling

Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to establish a vibrant, extramurally funded program of research, to work collaboratively within existing research strengths at WSU, and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate courses in their area(s) of expertise. A second position in “-omics” research is also open in the department, and
dual-career couples are encouraged to apply.

A competitive start-up package will be tailored to the specific needs of the successful candidate. Departmental faculty participate in two doctoral programs-- Biomedical Sciences and Environmental Sciences -- as well as separate MSc programs in Biological Sciences and Microbiology & Immunology. The department has close ties with WSU’s Boonshoft School of Medicine. Resources in support of research include genomics and proteomics facilities, a breadth of microscopy instrumentation, a quality animal care facility, and opportunities to collaborate with individuals at numerous regional clinical, industrial, and research institutions, including the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Focus on Systems Biology

The Department of Biological Sciences at Wright State University in Dayton, OH invites applications for a full-time tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR to begin Fall 2013. We seek a Molecular, Cellular or Organismal Biologist who uses functional genomics, proteomics and/or related high-throughput system analyses to examine complex regulatory networks. Emphasis will be placed on candidates researching hostmicrobe/ parasite interactions, pathogenesis, cell communication, and/or regulatory/metabolic networks. Strong candidates in other areas will also be considered. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to establish vibrant, extramurally funded programs of research, to work collaboratively within existing research strengths at WSU, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate courses in their area(s) of
