- Each successful new-hire is expected to perform nominal service to the department, college and scientific community during the probationary tenure period. Upon receiving tenure, the amount of professional service should increase proportionally to one's professional stature.
WSU faculty adhere to a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the university and the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). One stipulation of this agreement is that the requirements for tenure be clearly defined by departmental by-laws.
